Energy in Transition – Powering Tomorrow

Discover the travelling exhibition organised by the German Federal Foreign Office and gain an insight into the global dialogue on the energy transition as seen by governments, society, the private sector and the scientific and academic community.

Limiting the global temperature increase to well below 2°C – if to 1.5°C: this is the international community's objective. Governments, civil society, researchers and the private sector all around the world are working together to achieve it.

This will require a significant reduction in emissions from agriculture, industry, transport and many other sectors between now and 2050. How can we make our energy supply secure, accessible, emission-free and sustainable? The answer: through a global energy transition.

Energy derived from the wind, the sun, geothermal heat or the sea; technologies that allow energy to be stored right up until it is actually needed; coupling sectors so energy is used as efficiently as possible; creating completely new forms of mobility that allow people to reach their destination faster and more conveniently than ever before using a small amount of clean energy – the energy transition has the world on tenterhooks and is constantly opening up new opportunities and possibilities on a truly global scale.

The global energy transition has many sides

We can only achieve the global energy transition together. In addition to restructuring the energy systems, it is essential to transform the transport sector and mobility in general. This structural change must be designed to be fair and equal.
